Temporary Project Assistant
The Safe Senior Prevention Coalition Program is seeking a Project Assistant who has significant ties to the community and is knowledgeable in the substance use/misuse needs of high-risk adults (45+ years old) populations across Long Island.
The Project Assistant will provide support to the Program Coordinator and work collaboratively in facilitating outreach to communities in both Nassau and Suffolk counties. The Project Assistant will collaborate in adult-focused (45+ years old) efforts and development of environmental alcohol reduction strategies for a substance use reduction coalition.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with survey implementation, outreach, and increasing coalition membership in both Nassau & Suffolk counties.
+ Support the Program Coordinator in implementing all coalition activities such as needs assessment activities, Community health planning activities, Collecting community health indicators data, and collaborating with other local, state and national organizations.
+ Attending monthly coalition meetings with Program Coordinator.
+ Assist in creating relevant social media content.
+ Provide the Program Coordinator with documentation on survey implementation, outreach, and increasing coalition membership efforts completed/planned.
+ Ensure that all services and outreach are strength-based and culturally competent.
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ At least 1 year experience with community organizing, coalition building and/or prevention work.
+ Relevant knowledge and/or experience working with Nassau and/or Suffolk communities.
+ Excellent verbal and written skills-including public speaking skills.
+ Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
+ Valid and clean New York State Driver's License
Compensation Information
+ The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA's framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience' while still allowing for growth.
Additional Information
+ Salary: 28/hr
+ This role is temporary, 25 hours/week, nonexempt
