Now’s your chance. **The Opportunity** As the temporary Health Communications Specialist, you will serve a vital role in providing communications, marketing, and dissemination expertise and services to Abt’s client the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position is 100% dedicated to this client’s activities and while preference is for the candidate to be located in Atlanta, GA, it is a remote role. Experience with working on-site at a federal agency is also preferred and previous federal clearance is required. In this role, you will work closely with CDC staff to communicate strategy and marketing activities to establish and promote CDC as the source for official health statistics of the United States. An important part of your work will be developing and implementing digital communication strategies to maximize the value of digital assets and services through content strategy, data dashboards and visualizations, social media, and other digital tactics, channels, and formats. Excellent writing and editing skills are required. This position will end in September 2025. **Core Responsibilities** Provide services to support centrally administered CDC communications, marketing and dissemination activities. Responsibilities will include: + Communications Planning, Development, Dissemination and Reporting + Help develop communication and marketing plans and strategies for disseminating and promoting health products and services. Analyze communications, marketing, and dissemination goals for diverse internal and external audiences. Identify new channels and sources for promotion. + Assist CDC staff in the design, development and dissemination of collateral including print, video, social media and web-based products and services for promoting health data and statistics. + Assist CDC in updating internal and external web pages by developing and revising web content + Write Content for External and Internal Audiences + Review, edit, and write health content for using CDC’s Clear Communication Index Score Sheet. + Write, recommend content, or edit contributed content for blog posts. Assist with writing, developing, and presenting information, data, and training materials to internal and external stakeholders. + Aid in writing and editing health data materials, internal news and event announcements, CDC Today announcements, and Events Calendar submissions. + Support development of internal communication messages for staff. Obtain all necessary clearances for releasing internal communication messages and products. + Identify and support new platforms, channels, and strategies to improve internal communication. Coordinate the What’s Happening Now calendar. + Support Webinars, Meetings, Workshops Conferences and Events with planning, developing, promoting and conducting them. Attend onsite and virtual seminars and webinars that highlight the newest data releases and other meetings identified by Technical Monitor. **What We Value** + Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree + 3 years of experience, or PHD + 0 years of relevant experience. + Demonstrated expertise in communications planning, development and delivery including writing web content, digital content delivery, digital content management, social media publishing and other related fields. + Expertise in science writing, translating science to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats, and writing reports. + Demonstrated experience with CDC. + Previous experience working on site (badged) at CDC or another federal agency. **What We Offer** We foster an environment where you can Thrive Your Way.
