Temporary - Research Scientist
This research scientist staff position supports the work of the National Wood Bank Project, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number and capacity of wood banks around the United States in order to address heating insecurity among the elderly, disabled, and low income populations. Six-month temporary position, 40-hours per week, $23.61/hour. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Participate in National Wood Bank project meetings + Collaborate with National Wood Bank project partners on research and outreach. + Handle verbal and written communication for a broad range of wood bank related questions, issues and requests. + Support Maine wood banks in networking meetings. + Coordinate with National Wood Bank Project parnters to plan, organize and deliver wood bank outreach programs. + Assist in designing, developing and preparing instructional materials for wood banks. + Assist in designing and developing marketing materials, such as wood bank fliers/fact sheets, social media posts, e-newsletters, etc. + Organize and facilitate wood bank webinar series. + Maintain records, files and submits summary reports of programs. + Provide timely and accurate information in response to public requests for information. + Develop and maintain professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility, and mutual respect. + Serve on organizational committees as appropriate. + Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned. + Develops and maintains professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility, and mutual respect + Builds productive relationships with internal and external constituencies + Utilizes coaching and mentoring methods which provide an environment that is anticipatory, supportive, and encourages constructive feedback on performance + Commits to organizational improvements by identifying opportunities to improve, and recommending possible alternatives for a situation + Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: + Bachelor's degree + Knowledge of wood banks; + excellent interpersonal and other communication skills; + proven ability to achieve goals and manage multiple tasks; + demonstrated computer skills (e.g., Zoom); + ability to work both independently and in a team; + ability to plan, organize and deliver programming related to wood banks.
