A. BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to coordinate social services from the Corps to potential clients. The purpose of this position is to provide daily social service assistance, answer and respond to incoming telephone calls, greet and direct visitors coming to the building during office hours and perform additional duties as assigned
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor and screen incoming calls, refer callers to the appropriate person/agency, and/or take messages as needed.
2. Greet visitors, directing them to proper waiting areas while notifying specific staff when a visitor has arrived.
3. Manage and maintain the stocking of the food pantry and packaging of food boxes for client households, including oversight of volunteers.
4. Receive, receipt, and log all donations, including in-kind (GIK) and monetary donations. All monetary donations to be immediately turned in to the Administration office.
5. Responsible for screening clients using REACH casework guidelines and Wellsky application, to create or maintain client files, while identifying spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs, providing services where possible and referrals to additional resources as needed.
6. Keep accurate stats and records of all services provided through Turbo stats application
7. Seek opportunities to link clients with corps programs.
8. Assist with seasonal social service activity, such as canned food drives, Christmas, etc.
9. Keep the pantry, reception area and entry way clean and presentable.
10. Other related duties, as assigned by the Corps Officer(s).
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma
2. Must be 21 years or older.
3. Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level
4. High degree of confidentiality
5. Computer literate, in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Publisher, Access and Microsoft Outlook
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence
8. Excellent organizational skills
9. Ability to work with the public
10. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks
11. Class C Driver’s License
D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
3. Ability to reach overhead
4. Ability to operate telephone
5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
6. Ability to operate a computer
7. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
8. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer
9. Miscellaneous office equipment including but not limited to staplers, three-hole punch, etc.
