Temporary Staff Accountant
Overview MasTec Civil is hiring a temporary Staff Accountant for approximately 6 months. This role is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day accounting functions of Condotte America and related companies, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives. Responsibilities Analyze and reconcile various General Ledger accounts and prepare correcting entries as needed Analyze and Enter Job Cost and G&A accruals Reconcile cash transactions daily and monthly Review accounts payable and accounts receivable entries and checks for accuracy and completeness and direct correcting entries as needed Assist with preparing, reviewing and submitting month-end/quarter/year-end work papers and packages Understand SOX guidelines to ensure accurate controls and segregation of duties are in place to meet compliance Help implement new software/systems Maintain fixed asset registry by recording additions, disposals, transfers, etc. Obtain and organize information for internal and external audits Prepare state sales and use tax return Assist PM’s with questions related to financial and operational information Assist supervisors with preparation of reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals Various other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university Two years or more of related experience and/or training Previous experience working within a Public Accounting Firm a plus CPA a plus Construction Experience a plus KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in MS.
