Job SummaryWhile working closely with research personnel, participates actively in a structured learning experience in the laboratory or clinical research setting. Gains hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical settings, data collection and analysis and/or other related skills to explore careers in biomedical and/or clinical research.

Responsibilities:

Student will begin learning laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects in the laboratory or clinical setting with minimal supervisionStudent will begin learning how to record and analyze data related to research experiments or other data sets with minimal supervision. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Undergraduate degree required.May be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program student.  (EXCLUDES students in a PhD program)This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Complexity of Work:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

None required.Students with previous research laboratory experience are often preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Normal physical requirements include good near visual acuity and color acuity.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
