As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at BCAA, you will play a key role in ensuring we attract and recruit top talent for a diverse set of roles across the organization, both leadership and non-leadership positions. You will collaborate with diverse teams and leadership to drive inclusive recruitment strategies, lead the full-cycle recruitment process, and help build a strong, diverse talent pipeline that aligns with our corporate strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled recruiter to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment and make a meaningful impact.
Please note that this is a **temporary position** , anticipated to be 5 months in duration. It is a hybrid role based on our Burnaby, BC (British Columbia) Head Office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our 4567 Canada Way office and/or are not looking to relocate to BC will not be considered for this position.

What you bring:
+ A post-secondary degree, ideally in HR, Business, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPHR designation preferred.
+ A minimum of 5-7 years in talent acquisition or a related field, with at least 3 years of hands-on, full-cycle recruitment experience across a wide range of roles and teams (in house and agency). Experience hiring in a union setting is an asset.
+ Expertise in building strong relationships with candidates and clients, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all.
+ Solid knowledge of HR Management Systems and/or Applicant Tracking Systems, with Workday preferred, and an interest in using technology to enhance processes.
+ Proven track record of navigating recruitment strategies, handling timelines, and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
+ Demonstrated leadership in managing recruitment projects, collaborating with vendors, and negotiating with third-party suppliers to ensure the best outcomes.
+ Ability to inspire and influence hiring leaders, fostering a collaborative approach to making sound and inclusive hiring decisions.
+ Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to solving challenges, with a commitment to finding innovative solutions.
What you'll do:
+ Collaborate with leadership to plan and lead recruitment strategies that align with BCAA’s current and future staffing needs, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
+ Lead all aspects of the end to end recruiting process from job posting through to the writing the offer letter, including developing job ad’s, sourcing candidates, reviewing assessments and handling the interview, background checks and offer stages.
+ Create and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent across various roles and departments.
+ Act as a trusted advisor to hiring leaders, offering advice on candidate screening and ensuring alignment with BCAA’s talent acquisition processes.
+ Build and engage a strong candidate pipeline through creative sourcing strategies, using internal and external resources effectively.
+ Research and represent BCAA at recruitment-related events, including career fairs and post-secondary partnerships.
+ Track, analyze, and report on recruitment metrics to continuously improve the effectiveness of our recruitment programs.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, legislation, and best practices, and contribute to process improvements that align with business needs.
+ Promote the employee referral program to generate high-quality candidate referrals.
+ Assist with other TA and People related projects and tasks as needed to support the overall HR function.
The hourly rate for this position is $44.22 to $55.28 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and benefit payout, this position may be eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
