Responsibilities:

Responsible for proto measurements, fit comments, and approved grade in tech pack. Measure samples received from Proto stage to TOP samples in a timely manner. Check construction and quality of product to ensure sample has proper construction for garment category and fabrication. Ability to communicate fit and balance issues via pattern diagram or directly on pattern. Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure the fit process stays in line with production and action timelines. Create easily understandable comments using written and visual methods. Leads fit session on live model or mannequin and takes initiative of specific product categories. Cross-examine sample against information in the Tech Pack and against the previous sample to ensure consistency and call out any discrepancies to the team. Document clear and precise notes for any changes to the garments during fit sessions. Update Tech Packs with the most current information for the BOM, construction notes, specs, label placements, and design sketches after each fitting if necessary. Work closely with cross-functioning teams to ensure all information in BOMs is correct when passing off to production. Collaborate with the cross-functioning teams to ensure wash and fabric aesthetic is achieved. Collaborate with cross-functioning teams to gain clear direction and consensus of fit intent. Escalate issues to superiors for input and direction. Maintain professional and timely email correspondence with domestic & oversea vendors Identify potential product, quality and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations Track and manage workflow and workload for own product and ensure product areas are maintained with cross-functional team; gather information and update all reports necessary for meeting.

Required Skills:

Understanding in flat garment measuring, garment construction, quality control/assurance. Minimum 5 years of experience in the apparel industry as a Technical Designer and Pattern maker. Strong understanding of the apparel design and development process from inception through production. Ability to create 1st through production patterns. Must be proficient with knowledge and skill in fit and pattern making, grading and construction manufacturing methods, sewing, and technical drawing. Experience in grading and ability to understand grade rules on women’s and kids.  Experience in leading live fittings and evaluate overall fit with ability to make necessary corrections to achieve the desired fit. Knowledge and proven success in technical design and pattern making for the Junior and Plus market and product categories carried by Fashion Nova. Knowledge of preparing and writing product specification sheets across company-wide products.  Clear communication of fit comments and fit corrections to send to our Factoies on a regular basis. Proficient computer skills, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint ). Bonus if you have CAD pattern experience (Gerber preferred). High level of attention to detail. Ability to quickly and effectively identify apparel flaws and/or possible production issues. Ability to work successfully with any personality type and adapt to urgent projects. Sense of urgency and ability to maintain performance quality under pressure Ability to prioritize work and follow instructions Team-oriented; ability to excel in a team-based structure.  Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written) and organizational skills Self-starter, multi-task oriented and the ability to resolve issues in a timely fashion Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases Organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong follow up skills. Ability to effectively influence and convey necessary corrections. English, additional language(s) an advantage Schedule of this position:  Monday – Friday | Core business hours | Onsite
