Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept Facilities & Property Management (FPM) supports student success by maintaining and continually improving PSU’s campus, including 50 acres and 5 million square feet of office, housing, classroom, conferencing, and retail spaces.

Facilities and Property Management (FPM) is a part of the Office of Planning, Construction, and Real Estate. FPM coordinates with multiple campus partners to ensure that PSU grounds, buildings, and mechanical systems are well maintained, aesthetically pleasing, clean, functional, and safe for employees, students, and guests. Position Summary PSU’s Facilities and Property Management department (FPM) is hiring a temporary Trades/Maintenance Worker 2 to conduct a variety of building maintenance related tasks on campus. Primary duties include: maintenance, repairs and replacement of equipment found in offices, classrooms, laboratories, and common areas such as projection screens, furniture, white boards and more; Maintenance of building architectural systems and elements such as windows, doors, glazing, insulation, floor coverings, ceilings, drains, gutters and stairs; rough concrete installation and removal, carpentry, pressure washing, painting, graffiti removal and site cleaning.


Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people. They will demonstrate their knowledge of industry best practices while working safely, collaborating with other FPM departments and trades, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor Minimum Qualifications from Classification -Three years of general building maintenance experience in one or more of the following trade areas: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, and welding.



NOTE: Some positions may require licensure or certification in a specific trade area. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Possession of a valid State-issued driver’s license. Successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications Experience with painting and drywall repair Experience with woodworking and metal fabrication Experience with small engine maintenance and repair Experience with MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) Certifications in Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), fall protection awareness, fall protection PPE, Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP), lead O+M, silica O+M, and asbestos O+M Demonstrated ability to lead small teams in construction, maintenance and repair tasks
