Tennis Instructor - Yates Field House

Requirements

At Yates Field House – the university’s recreation facility – extensive fitness and recreation programming is available not only for students but also staff, faculty, alumni, and local community members. Yates facilities and equipment are dedicated to serving the fitness needs of all our students and members.  Program areas such as group fitness, aquatics, racquet sports, intramural sports, and Red Cross certifications provide daily opportunities for students and members to improve physical and mental wellness.


The Tennis Instructor provides lessons to adults and juniors- private and group lessons-beginner to advanced levels. The incumbent must have teaching experience and enjoy helping players improve their game with enthusiasm and friendly, positive demeanor. The position is part-time and involves after school, evening and weekend hours- approximately 15-30 hours a week.
Duties Include but are not limited to:

Teach adults and juniors Tennis as needed.

Provide private and Group lessons.

Help with scheduling as needed.

Develop lesson plans with clients.

   

Work Interactions
The work perform helps contribute to the revenue generated by the racquet sports. This position helps cover the demand for tennis lessons. The position provides a service to our campus recreation members and community. The position reports to the Racquet Director. The Racquet Director what lessons need to be taught and if it is a private or group lesson.

College degree

Previous teaching and playing experience
