The Department of Tumor Microenvironment & Metastasis (TME&M) at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, invites applications from outstanding scientists for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Member level. We seek innovators to advance our understanding as to how the tumor microenvironment influences cancer evolution, plasticity, metastasis, dormancy, progression in the metastatic microenvironment, and drug resistance.

Position Highlights

Moffitt offers dedicated space in a highly interactive research environment on the Moffitt campus that houses faculty in the Department of TME&M. Moffitt awards Team Science and candidates are encouraged to form research collaborations across the basic, translational, clinical and population science spectrum on any area of the TME that they are passionate about.  Specific areas of TME research include mesenchymal stromal cells, fibroblasts, endothlelial cells/lymphatics myeloid cells, lymphocytes, pH, metabolism, extracellular matrix stiffness, enervation and bioelectricity.

 

Ideal Candidates

Ability to develop an independent research program in TME and metastasis research that complements the Department's existing strengths in the area. Candidates with demonstrated strength in any area of TME and metastasis will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with a record of accomplishments and productivity in their chosen research area.

 

Credentials And Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, a demonstrated record of productivity in the field of TME and metastasis research as evidenced by extramural research support, and a record of publications and collaborations.

Moffitt is affiliated with the University of South Florida and a University appointment is encouraged.
