Tenure Track - Assistant Professor of Public Health

OVERVIEW
The Department of Health and Exercise Science in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in public health. We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A successful applicant will be interested and able to teach a range of public health undergraduate and graduate courses including healthcare systems, health policy, global health, public health administration, and environmental and occupational health. In addition, they will provide academic advising to students, and supervise internship and applied practice projects. A successful applicant will have experience in conducting and disseminating peer reviewed research, with the potential to develop a robust scholarly agenda, and the desire to provide service to the department, college, university, and greater community.

In 2019, the Morrison Family College of Health became the newest addition to the institution’s eight different schools and colleges. The college is comprised of several departments and schools, including the Department of Health and Exercise Science (HES), that was established prior to the college’s inception and houses the undergraduate public health major. QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate Qualifications:
Qualified candidates for the position must have the following:
+ A terminal degree (Ph.D., Dr.P.H., or equivalent), U.S. or Foreign Equivalent, in public health, global health, health policy, or related health field. Alternatively, ABD candidates nearing completion of their PH.D. will be considered.
+ Evidence of teaching effectiveness from prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level . At least one year of teaching experience required, which may include experience teaching on record as a teaching assistant
+ At least one year of experience in conducting and disseminating peer reviewed research, with the potential to develop a robust research agenda
+ At least one year of current or recent public health practical experience
+ CHES® / MCHES® or Certified in Public Health (CPH) eligible
+ Interest and/or experience working collaboratively (interdisciplinary)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience teaching different course modalities (in-person, online, blended, experiential)
+ Experience with developing curriculum, developing course materials, using a variety of teaching applications and pedagogical approaches, planning and conducting course assessments
+ Experience teaching graduate-level courses
+ Familiarity and experience with program accreditation standards and processes
+ CHES® / MCHES® or CPH certification
