Tenure Track Position in Information Systems (Open Rank: Assistant, Associate, or Full)
The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems at the assistant, associate or full professor level, with appointments beginning in August 2025. An appointment at the Full Professor level will be tenured. We welcome applications from candidates motivated by the unique opportunity to participate in growing a world-class business school at a premier private university. The information systems group consists of a collegial group of faculty members who are actively publishing in the top information systems, management, and health journals. The group continues to expand, with recent tenure-track hires. Faculty research interests are diverse, and include projects that examine information systems phenomena from psychological, economic, organizational, and technical perspectives. A major focus of the group is on the intersection between digital technologies, data science, analytics, artificial intelligence, and healthcare. The Carey Business School is home to the Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence (https://carey.jhu.edu/cdhai), which collaborates across the Hopkins schools on multidisciplinary research projects. Successful candidates can be from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds including information systems, computer science, economics, engineering, management, sociology, psychology, and health informatics. Qualified candidates must have the following: + A PhD degree in information systems or associated fields conferred by employment start date. + Demonstrated strong commitment to academic research in information systems and associated fields. + Associate professor appointments are subject to external evaluations under the Carey Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure process. Candidates should have a research record with publications in the top journals and a research pipeline that shows progress towards promotion to full professor with tenure. + Evidence of successful teaching in a graduate business school environment is required for associate and full professor applicants and is desirable but not required for assistant professor applicants who are just obtaining their PhD. Faculty are expected to teach classes in our MBA, MS, and undergraduate business minor programs. The expected base pay salary range for this position is as follows: Assistant Professor: $170,000 - $245,000 a year Associate Professor: $195,000 - $280,000 a year Full Professor: $245,000 - $375,000 a year The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate - e.g., years in rank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by the University. The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Carey Business School faculty compensation program.
