The Terminal Operator's primary responsibility is to safely and timely unload tanker trucks and load tank trucks and unload rail cars to trucks and storage, within the terminal area. The Terminal Operator will understand, and follow, operating procedures and policies. Apply today and you could start as soon as this week. **As a PeopleReady associate you'll benefit from:** + Connections and experience with some of the top companies in your area + Great benefit package options + Get matched to jobs quickly. + Competitive pay and steady schedule + The ability to see your schedule and track your hours right from our easy-to-use app, JobStack! **Pay Rate:** _The pay rate for this job is $18 - $22 / hour*_ **What you'll be doing as a Terminal Operator:** + Daily unloading of tanker trucks and rail cars carrying diesel fuel and possibly other fuels (Hazardous materials) + Operate the transloaders, connect and disconnect hoses to and from the transloaders and the tanks + Drive a ¾ ton work truck (F350) and tow a trailer + Work outside in all weather conditions + Read and write clearly and accurately fill out all required paperwork + Enforce all safety policies and procedures with other employees, truck drivers and visitors + Inspect the terminal and equipment and identify any issues and report to the Terminal Manager + Perform general maintenance on equipment, as necessary + Assist with facility maintenance such as general maintenance, landscape upkeep, and painting, as needed + Keep work area clean and organized + Must not be afraid to ask questions + Perform work safely and productively + Work independently and in a team setting in a helpful and professional manner + Interact with customers, railroad crews, and visitors, in a professional manner + Performs all other duties as assigned **Available shifts:** Shift timings - All available **Job requirements:** + Fluency in English required. Spanish required + High School Diploma or GED equivalent + A valid Driver's License + Must be available for a full-time shift, M - F, and some weekends possible, shifts are generally 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM and 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM but may be changed to accommodate customer preferences + Experience working outside in all weather conditions ((sunshine, snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, high temperatures, etc.) + Willing to work with liquid hazardous materials, as needed + Must have the ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies + Willingness in being cross trained on all functions at the terminal facility + Must possess a strong work ethic and the willingness to follow procedures + Must be able to read, write, and understand English + Perform basic math skills + Light computer skills is a plus + Capable of learning how to operate and maintain rail car and trans-loading equipment (hoses, portable conveyors, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.) + Must have a willingness to learn new skills and be teachable + Physically able to climb up and down rail cars and ladders, safely for an extended period + Work inside and outside in ALL weather conditions + Lift and carry 50 pounds or more consistently + Walk 1-2 miles per shift + Must be authorized to work in the USA **Ready to take control of the way you work?** Complete our application to join the PeopleReady team today. *Hourly pay rates are a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
