Position Title: Terminal Service Manager

Department:  Maintenance

Location: Greeley, CO

Reports to: Director of Maintenance

 

Position Overview: The Terminal Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a truck maintenance and repair shop. This role ensures the shop runs efficiently, maintains high safety and quality standards, and delivers excellent service. The manager supervises mechanics and technicians, manages inventory, and ensure compliance with all DOT and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Shop Operations & Management:

Oversee daily maintenance and repair activities for company trucks and trailer equipment.Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.Manage shop workflow, prioritizing repairs and preventative maintenance,Develop and implement stand operating procedures to improve efficiency.Monitor and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.

Personnel Management:

Supervise, train, and evaluate mechanics, technicians, and support staff.Schedule work shifts and assignments to maximize productivity.Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for skill development.Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Fleet Maintenance & Compliance:

Oversee inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of diesel trucks and trailer equipment.Maintain accurate service records and schedules for all fleet vehicles.Ensure all trucks meet DOT regulations and are road-ready.Work with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and services.

Financial & Inventory Management:

Monitor shop expenses and stay within budgetManage parts inventory and ensure cost-effective purchasing.Approve vendor invoices and track repair costs.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Customer Service & Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, fleet managers, and external vendors.Address driver concerns and ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime.Communicate shop performance metrics to senior management.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid Class A CDL 5+ years of experience in truck and trailer maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, refer trailers, cattle trailers, and diagnostics.Experience with fleet management software and maintenance tracking.Excellent problem solving, organizational, and leadership skills,Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shop management systems.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Work in shop environment with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and noise.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.

Base salary range of $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
