We are currently looking for a Senior Actuary for our Terms of Trade Team reporting to the Head of Experience Analysis and Terms of Trade in the Life Department.

Your Role:
• Update and maintains all Terms of Trade for MRoA
• Work with the regional office to determine Terms of Trade
• Liaise with retail and group pricing teams and valuations team on assumption setting
• Support overall Life Business strategy & risk management
• Maintain the highest standard of technical competence & ensuring global and local guidelines are followed
• Partner with business to provide valuable insight to influence strategy and long-term decision making
• Train and upskill junior team members on Terms of Trade setting
Your profile:
• FASSA/equivalent actuarial qualification or nearly qualified Actuary
• 5+ years’ experience deriving terms of trade and/or doing experience studies
• Sound understanding of South African life insurance products and market dynamics
• Analytical and statistical skills
• Excellent programming skills in actuarial/statistical programming languages
• VBA/Excel
• SQL Server
• R/Python or any relevant software programme
