Territory Manager – Southwestern, Ontario

Position Summary:

The incumbent will manage and implement brand strategies in Southwestern Ontario. You will work closely with the Director of Sales (Eastern) and MCL Sales Agencies to develop regional KPIs and action plans, in addition to maintaining and managing the region’s budget process.  You will develop strong relationships with all key customers, influencers, and users. You will also develop strong relationships with Sales, Channel, Brand (Marketing), and Product Management, Quotes to ensure that the necessary needs of the marketplace are understood, internally and externally to overcome the barriers to entry and drive success.

For success in this position, the candidate must understand the complex sales cycle and product lines involved in residential new construction sales.  The candidate must maintain open lines of communication internally across a broad array of functional areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

What you'll do:

Develop, maintain and grow relationships with key influencers across our various target segments with emphasis on residential new construction (RNC)Responsible for achieving sales targets, strategies, and tactics as prescribed and agreed uponResponsible to create and execute residential proposals among top regional buildersAssist in the preparation of annual and monthly sales forecast and sales targetsMonitor and analyze field sales reports, interpret results and take corrective action to achieve sales targetsTravel to support sales targets and responsibilities. Time and expenses to be managed based on needs and expectations of specified areaProvide monthly a detailed account of all training, competitive intelligence, product requirements, in the specified regional area to expand market share.Direct and assist the sales team and rep agencies in accordance with the strategies and tactics of the RegionCreate and execute focused sales strategies and programs for the various segments Coach and further develop our independent sales agencies to ensure that not only are our Masco brands given the appropriate amount of attention but that they understand the market segments and influencers.  Develop & help implement action plans with them.Develop a high level of portfolio, product, and industry knowledge and expertise with a goal to be sought out as an RNC Subject Matter Expert.Lead and participate in product knowledge seminars with influencers and end-users which include lunch & learn contractor breakfasts and site demonstrations.Participation in the various trade organizations and subsequent trade shows such as CIPH, ASPE, CHES, NEWH, NKBA, MCAC, and Canadian Home BuildersMaintains professional and productive relationships with major distributorsAssists the Director of Sales, Eastern in the development of departmental goals and objectives; recommends, implements, and administers policies and procedures to enhance operationsReviews ongoing performance results and identifies the needs of agencies.Provide ongoing, effective, and timely sales and technical training on all product categoriesProvide appropriate support in identifying and addressing field product performance/qualityissues. This will include support in resolving escalated customer issues and interacting with the Engineering group in gathering necessary information on potential product performance/quality issuesMaintains a favourable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.Maintains high morale and productivityAnalyzes and appraises the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results; approves, sample orders & display content and costs for show homes and personal use requested by sales representativesUtilizes promotional opportunities to their fullest advantage.Create and execute focused sales strategies and programs for the various segments Influencing the product selection for major new construction projectsDevelopment, in conjunction with Marketing and Brand of appropriate segment-focused support tools (sales samples, presentations, literature, newsletters, promotions)Annual budget preparation, sales forecasting lead for special projectsDuties and responsibilities are subject to change and could be adjusted in an effort to better serve the organization. Assist / Develop and organize product presentation packages for key buildersContinually demonstrate a commitment to the organizations core values (Service, Excellence, Collaboration, Passion & Integrity)

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or 4 years of commercial sales management experience in residential new construction.Strong understanding of complex sales cycles and product lines.Outstanding communication skills and ability to maintain open lines of communication across diverse functional areas.Ability to travel as required to meet sales targets and responsibilities.Strong analytical skills to monitor and interpret sales data.Dedication to continuous learning and development in product and industry knowledge.Ability to mentor and coach sales teams and independent sales agencies.
