OBJECTIVE: 

We are looking for a Territory Manager to manage all business facets of a retail account including sales, administration, and communication for independent cutlery / gourmet retailers and select mid-size regional accounts in Upstate New York, Connecticut, and New England. The Territory Manager will be expected to travel a minimum of 60-70% within the territory with overnights included.

The successful Territory Manager will be a self-motivated professional with solid accomplishments in sales, merchandising, training, and customer service processes. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate corporate strategies and develop tactical business plans to effectively manage and grow independent cutlery/gourmet retailers and select mid-size regional accounts.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication:

Primary point of communication for customers. Maintain open communication with ZWILLING J.A. Henckels Management, Training/Merchandising team, Customer Service, Sales Planning/Analysts and Colleagues. Updates on individual account, advertising/marketing, space allocations and adjacencies, visual opportunities, assortment changes, forecast, customer meetings and competitive set.

Business Management:

Promote and sell all ZWILLING J.A. Henckels product categories to independent cutlery/gourmet retail stores as well as select mid-size regional accounts. Build and maintain lasting relationships with store owners, buyers, managers and selling associates. Accountable for written and net shipped business. Creation and implementation of business plans for achieving incremental account growth and potential new accounts. Sales analysis and trouble shooting. Assortment planning and analysis. Account opening/exiting analysis and recommendations. Creation and implementation of sales incentives. Negotiate space allocations, brand adjacencies and visual opportunities. Collaborate on advertising opportunities with Regional Sales Manager and Marketing department.

Administrative:

Management of Fiscal Budgets MSA: Co-op and Sales Promotion RTV: Stock Balance / Damages Sales Trainings & Seminars POS: Fixtures / Visuals Travel & Expense

Reporting:

Retail Sales: weekly, monthly, STD, YTD for accounts Monthly sku sell-thru for each account Product forecasting Net shipments and returns status Weekly Call Reports

Order Maintenance:

Open orders (cancel/ship dates) Advertising and Sample order follow up

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 4 year college degree Minimum 3-5 years field sales experience in branded consumer products Strong background in wholesale/ retail housewares sales, promotion and merchandising Sound organizational skills: planning, expediting, prioritizing, managing multiple tasks and meeting corporate deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work autonomously and effective time management Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Willingness to travel overnight. Minimum 60% to 70%
