Test & Commissioning Manager

The Test & Commissioning Manager will lead and manage Test & Commissioning teams across multiple projects for Siemens Electrification Portfolio of works. Ensuring that projects compliance with current standards and the requirements of Siemens and Infrastructure Operators.

The Test & Commissioning Manager will provide day-to-day support within the Siemens Electrification teams, reporting into the Engineering Manager for planning and executing project engineering activities on rail and other infrastructure projects.

Ensuring all test and commissioning documentation/processes comply with all applicable standards, legislation, contract requirements and specifications, ensuring that all test and commissioning activities are carried out safely and efficiently to the correct standards.Assisting Project Managers with managing T&C Budgets and resource allocation including subcontract management.Leading project activities associated with Test and Commissioning including the planning of site works, resource, budget and plant where required.Delivery of Programmes including Construction and EIS activities.Ensuring compliance with appropriate international standards and standards for the Infrastructure Owner.Ability to work on multiple projects balancing and managing own time.Undertaking technical reviews of internal and external documentation including staging and commissioning plans, staging designs, work package plans, to ensure these are integrated, buildable and with a focus on safety.Developing test and commissioning strategies associated with the delivery of project works including assessment of cost, risk and hazards including developing efficiencies where practicable.Leading test and commissioning and staging meetings across multi-disciplines with clients and subcontractors, developing meeting minutes and action logs as appropriate.Monitoring of site work activities throughout the commissioning, EIS stage and hand back.Coordination of Test & Commissioning with the Construction Managers from all disciplines.Assist CRE-C’s with collation of redline drawings and test records.Assist with the production and ongoing Management of Siemens Electrical Safety Rules.Organising and delivering adequate briefings for any Test & Commissiong activities.Supporting the CEM in the discharge of their role duties including Construction Design Management (CDM) compliance and the clients Common Safety Method Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and Hazard Log.Completion of Close Calls, and Site Safety Tours.Ensuring safety Critical site documentation such as WPPs, TBs are produced and have the correct level of detail and resources included for safe delivery of works.Progress tracking and reporting against plan (daily/weekly/monthly) through co-ordination with the Test & Commissioning Engineers.

You’ll win us over by...

Previous experience as a T&C Manager or as a Senior Test & Commissioning Engineer, preferably in Rail Power & Distribution or the Utility Industry.Works will require travel to different locations so a full valid UK Driving License and willingness to travel is essential.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.An organised and methodical approach to tasks.The ability to work effectively as part of a team.The ability to lead a T&C Team and allocate resources as required.The ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.Engineering qualification Preferably Electrical (Power) Engineering.Knowledge of Rail or Utility industry distribution systems and protection schemes.Must have Network Rail HV Distribution Level A competence.Must Have Railway Personal Track Safey (PTS) competence.Experience of working on Multi-discipline projects.Understanding of Risk Assessments and Risk-Based approach to management of safety including application of CDM/CSM and participation in HAZIDs.Able to recognise the importance of following procedures associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.Management of programme activities delivering on time and budget with a view on affordability and value at all times.
