Purpose
The Principal Architect (Business) bears overall responsibility to drive the creation and adoption of Business Architecture, align strategic objectives with tactical demands to create a fit-for-purpose capability roadmap for Newmont. In addition, he/she will be responsible for delivering a blueprint of the enterprise that provides a common understanding of the processes required to run the business. This person must be proficient in the techniques that go in the formulation of business architectures, including strategy mapping and capability mapping frameworks across multiple business domains. The purpose of this role will be to continue to build a sustainable and fit-for-purpose business and information architecture blueprint for technology improvement, focusing on operational excellence, process improvement and governance, while helping the company achieve its business objectives.
Essential Duties
Strategic
Drives and facilitates the right discussions with business leaders to identify business capabilities in relation to current and future business objectives Collaborates and partners with various functional business leaders, technical leaders and executive stakeholders to understand long and short term business strategies, provide thought leadership and engage in proactive planning of an executable business capability roadmap addressing the strategic and tactical business priorities and challenges and intended business outcomes and values Understands, at the enterprise level, the organization’s business and stakeholders’ perspectives with regards to the entire organization Understands relationships between influencing factors and applicable dependencies and how they potentially impact the organization and each other, given different solution scenariosTactical
Works closely with Engagement Managers and leaders to develop domain roadmaps Works closely with Application, Information/Operational Technology and Infrastructure Architect to deliver Business Architecture artifacts Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise Works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework and available industry standard techniquesOperational
Ability to perform and present cost/benefit and risk analysis and identify potential tradeoffs of competing solutions Business thinking and highly strategic in order to define practical solutions that align with corporate strategy

Training & Experience
Knowledge:
Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent is required Demonstrated knowledge of broad enterprise architecture concepts, disciplines and capabilities Current knowledge of industry best practices for business architecture Business Architect certification is highly desirableExperience:
Applicant is required to have 15+ years of IT experience with a strong Business Architecture background of 3+ years in a large enterprise Experience visualizing and creating high level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture Experience in assimilating and correlating disconnected documentation and drawings and articulating their collective relevance to the organization and to high priority business issues Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills – ability to work cooperatively at all levels Prior experience with TOGAF and EA Tools Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.Skills and Abilities:
