Job Title: Test Engineer
Job Description

The Test Engineer is responsible for conducting tests in a specific area of responsibility, as per the test strategy and test plans. They develop test cases, plan test setups, execute tests, and provide feedback to stakeholders. They ensure the testability of the system/component being tested, develop and maintain test scripts for automated testing, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve reported defects. The Test Engineer contributes to improving testing effectiveness, speed, and productivity.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop test cases and plan test setups as per defined test strategy to assess the functional and non-functional quality and reliability of a component and/or system.Develop and maintain test scripts for automated testing.Review requirements, feature descriptions, and user experience specifications to ensure testability.Perform tests with safety precautions.Ensure agreed levels of test coverage, collaborating with development teams as needed.Maintain test cases to ensure their continued effectiveness.Perform testing at customer sites and external labs.Analyze test results and report defects using agreed processes and tools.Assist development teams in reproducing and analyzing defects.Summarize quality and reliability status based on performed tests.Provide accurate inputs to quality management, release management, and DevOps processes.Troubleshoot field issues and support development teams in quick resolution.Perform certification and qualification testing for new components/modules.Participate and actively contribute to agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning.Collaborate with other testers to ensure a system-level approach to testing and reliability assessment.Collaborate with stakeholders such as developers, integrators, and product owners to ensure effective testing.Provide inputs to stakeholder teams with improvement ideas and corrective actions.Conduct internal safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.Essential SkillsUnderstanding of software and hardware product quality concepts such as reliability, security, functional suitability, performance, and usability.Experience creating test cases and reporting results for products.Experience with manual and automated test methods for complex electromechanical products, IoT products and solutions, production testing, and EMI/MC testing.Experience with test automation methods for complex products and workflows, preferably involving physical products.Technical knowledge about machine design, electrical, embedded software, drive, machinery, control systems, IoT solutions, public cloud-based digital-physical products, and product connectivity.Proficiency with LabVIEW (Test Stand- Test Suites) and electrical schematics/hardware knowledge (wiring, understanding AC/DC voltages).Troubleshooting electrical components.C# programming skills and the ability to read and convert C# code to LabVIEW.Experience with test management tools and defect management processes.B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsKeen to learn new technologies.Strong English writing and speaking skills.Electrical safety knowledge (LOTO, 420/480V) and point-to-point testing experience.Experience in the elevator industry or with control cabinet/electrical cabinet (electronics assembly).Experience with National Instruments/LabVIEW and creating test sequences/program builds from scratch is ideal but not required.Ability to navigate and change variables in test setups.Familiarity with oscilloscopes and other testing tools.Ability to travel to customer and test sites if required (no travel for this role).Passing electrical safety and first aid tests for lab access, and additional training as needed.Work Environment

The work environment includes a diverse and strong dynamic culture with a focus on communication and inclusion. The team operates in a family culture, encouraging problem-solving with fact-based examples and data. The role is 100% in-office with a flexible schedule for appointments and personal needs. Core work hours are from 6 am to 4:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week, with flexibility for communication with teams in Finland. The role involves working alongside 13 testers, focusing on test development and supporting testers. The team values collaboration and creating strong working relationships.
