Purpose

Be a part of Newmont’s newest underground mine in Nevada by joining the engineering team at our Twin Creeks site.  We are looking for both experienced and entry level underground engineers to join a strong team already in place.  The Twin Creeks engineering team is responsible for both surface and underground operations at the mine site which provides unique cross-functional development opportunities for all the engineering staff.  Are you up for the challenge?

Essential Duties

Cooperate, communicate and work effectively with the cross-functional teams such as engineering, operations and geology departments to meet or exceed mining schedules Inform associates and supervisors of plans, opportunities and pitfalls to enable each to perform their role.  Clearly communicate verbally and in writing to minimize misunderstandings Apply engineering principles to ensure group is providing accurate development, drilling and blasting layouts that comply with company policies, procedures and government regulations Research and evaluate equipment, designs, procedures and processes to optimize ore extraction.  Work on continuous improvement projects as required. Use in house engineering and data software proficiently including the Microsoft Office Suite, Vulcan, Deswik, Xeras and VentSim are beneficial Prepare reports, feasibility studies and recommendations for operating management and engineering management Specific roles being sought after include: Short Range Planning Long Range Planning Drill and Blast Foreman Short Range Design Skills such as ventilation design, geotechnical design, budgeting, reserves calculating and reporting and cut-off grade calculations are considered assets Ability and desire to cross-train in surface engineering positions is critical

Training & Experience

Requires a B.S. Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering Grade level will depend on experience Experienced underground engineers needed as soon as possible Entry level engineers needed to start in July, but please apply now
