Job Title: Automation Test Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and self-driven Automation Test Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing and developing End of Line (EOL) test solutions for various products and electronic assemblies on both flexible and rigid circuit boards. The ideal candidate will have experience integrating test solutions into an automated process flow that includes robotic handling.
Responsibilities
+ Develop test solutions for the production team that include programming tests into a bed-of-nails Checksum system, a switch test system, or a low level circuit resistance Cirrus system, all of which are PC based.
+ Document and define custom test solutions prior to proceeding with design.
+ Write custom test executables that provide a GUI for operators to interact with and code that controls test equipment to take measurements and validate that products meet design intent.
+ Write and debug Python code using a debugger and document and explain software code to others.
+ Debug test solutions directly and provide direction to production personnel throughout the development cycle in preparation for handing off a validated final EOL test solution.
+ Identify parameters that must be tested on every assembly and properly challenge test requirements to optimize test equipment needs and validation time.
+ Analyze statistical data related to test measurements, with knowledge of six sigma, and explain test results to others.
+ Set up process limits to ensure good product shipment while eliminating nuisance failures.
+ Estimate timelines for development work based on requirements and existing project workload, and track time spent on various projects.
+ Study device specifications for electronic parts and purchase proper test equipment for measuring performance.
+ Research new technologies for test solution development and product design and propose ideas to advance capabilities to stay ahead in the market.
+ Verify product design and support bench level testing of prototypes with design engineers; assist in the execution of design validation (DV) and production validation (PV) tests.
+ Create technical documents based on project needs such as Test Plans, Test Reports, and Instruction Line Docs.
Essential Skills
+ 10 years of experience in test development and electrical background
+ Proficient in Python programming for GUI development
+ Understanding of how circuits work to develop effective test solutions
+ Experience with automation and robotics
+ Ability to write and debug Python code
+ Knowledge of six sigma and ability to analyze statistical data
+ Experience with PC-based test platforms such as Checksum, switch test systems, and Cirrus systems
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $63.00 - $73.00/hr.
