Title:
Test EngineerKBR is looking for a Test Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to the Operational Fires Test Division, Test and Evaluation (T&E) Directorate, Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense (SHIELD) Project Office for the PATRIOT Program to ensure that all aspects of ongoing and long-range PATRIOT-related test planning activities for US and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) test programs can be accomplished. Primary responsibility will be providing technical support to the SHIELD Operational Fires Test Division for the PAC-2 and PAC-3 Mission Flight test to include Field Surveillance Program (FSP) Programs, PATRIOT Developmental and or Operational Test and Evaluations, Integrated Fires and FMS missions. This will include all walkup mission planning and coordination, test resourcing, on-site test monitoring, and post-mission analysis, summary reporting, working group meetings and reviews. The applicant will perform coordination among disciplines within SHIELD and outside agencies to ensure that all SHIELD PATRIOT testing is conducted in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) test acquisition programs, policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., Army Regulation [AR] 70-1, Army Acquisition Policy; AR 73-1, Test and Evaluation [T&E] Policy, DoD Directive 5000.01, The Defense Acquisition System; DA Pamphlet 73-1, T&E in Support of Systems Acquisition, et al). The applicant will assist in reviewing designated US and FMS PATRIOT-related test documentation, to include mission and system descriptions, integrated test program schedules, integrated T&E strategy, and integrated test program management. Additional areas of SHIELD Test support include, but are not limited to, review and assessment of test schedules, hardware/software resource utilization, test objectives and criteria, flight test matrix establishment and definition, target requirements, interoperability test requirements, and special test requirements. As required, the applicant will assist in the preparation of SHIELD Test briefings or reports to provide recommendations, technical alternatives, and/or test program options. The applicant must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills (i.e., will prepare and present technical briefings and reports), and must be able to effectively use MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Project).
Required Experience:
The preferred candidate will have at least 7+ years of developmental and/or operational test experience in support of DA/DoD major weapon systems and 7 years of PATRIOT System test support. Applicant must have extensive experience in the following areas: mission support activities including, test requirements analysis, test documentation preparation / review, test resources planning / coordination, test scheduling, test range coordination, test conduct, data collection / analysis, operation data acquisition and preparation of test reports / briefings. The applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership expertise, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project in preparation of test and program documentation.
Minimum Education Requirements: B.S/B. A required.
Degree in Engineering or other B.S. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) is preferred.
Clearance Level Required: Secret
Special Requirements and Qualifications:
• Must be able to perform on-site temporary duty assignments (TDY) to various test ranges (typically not more than 2 weeks at a time) for up to 20 weeks per year, to include infrequent OCONUS travel
Specific experience in collecting Patriot system data, processing the data, and delivering to the United States Government (USG) preferred.Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information** This position can be located at White Sands Missile Range OR Huntsville, AL
