Test Engineer

Test Engineer 
Location: REMOTE
Pay Rate: Open to Both C2C and W2 options 
Position Type: Multiyear Contract 

Description:
To compile, research, analyze and document data, requirements, workflow/ processes, functionality and or controls for respective ISD group. To develop and evaluate information, and prepare recommendations based on analysis for use in decision making. Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and relates fields. Work on the most complex, high impact projects. Serve as technical specialist or advisor to the respective group.

***Experience testing APIs & using the API testing tool “Postman” (high level of experience with both of these is desired).**

Required:
• Testing using RESTful APIs
• Strong expertise utilizing Postman and Soap UI
• Knowledge of test planning, execution, and defect tracking
• Create, update & maintain test plans and cases
• Ability to write test scripts in BDD (Gherkin language) in addition to executing pre-written scripts
• Testing APIs (frontend & backend)
• Knowledge of JSON/XML structures
• Knowledge of SQL queries to validate APIs and database elements.
• Conduct test case reviews and make sure best testing practices are followed
• Experience in defect triage, prioritization, and troubleshooting
• Communicate testing progress, results, and other relevant information to project team and other stakeholders based on test plans
• Knowledge of working within a work management software such as; Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, MS Project
• Excellent time management, planning and multi-tasking skills to support multiple testing campaigns at the same time
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices

Desired:
• Experience of testing APIs and microservices (testing techniques Junit)
• Knowledge of API automated testing and framework (UFT/Selenium/Cucumber/IntelliJ/Java)
• Knowledge in querying Splunk
