Job Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for testing, evaluation, and failure analysis of mechanical equipment/products.
They will support testing for both R&D and quality departments, supporting new and existing products.Will interpret product requirements to determine the necessary testing methods, design and set-up tests, monitor and collect data, then create the final analysis and reporting to ensure the new product meets expectations or determine the cause of quality issues.Job isĀ 80% in the lab: test set-up, monitoring, shop work, and 20% is office-based: documentation, analysis, reporting.QualificationsBS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering2+ years of test engineering experience within a mechanical, equipment, hard-good environment (software or electronics testing is not relatable)Understanding of hydraulicsHard SkillsConstruct written test procedures, design and develop testsDesign test fixturing utilizing CAD and engineering calculations (SolidEdge preferred, SolidWorks or other acceptable)Construct/fabricate test fixtures (sawing, milling, welding, electrical wiring, PLC programming)Evaluate industry recognized test standards (ANSI, ASTM, etc)Inspect failed components and determine root cause of failureResearch and bring new technology and methods into Test DepartmentExecute, analyze, and document tests using company test proceduresDevise test methods to evaluate new technologiesProvide other engineering supportSoft SkillsManage multiple projects at oncePrioritize to meet timelinesWork individually and in a team setting
