Provide software testing support for Air Force staff training simulations as part of a development team. Responsibilities include: ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and program leadership is fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements.
Provides testing expertise in the support of user requirements for the Air Force Modeling and Simulation Training Toolkit (AFMSTT). AFMSTT is a suite of Air Force models used in Air Force and Joint Battlestaff Training.
Responsibilities Enhance system through Agile style test and integration focused on JLVC, JLCCTC, and BLSCE federations; Command and Control (C2) interoperability, integration, and testingAssist end users, who may not be knowledgeable in test procedures, to accomplish user acceptance testingDevelop and refine test procedures to verify satisfaction of requirements in a complex to highly complex software systemUnderstand and adhere to project schedules and stay within established budgetsProvide system operator support for major exercisesDocument test results and system defectsInstall, operate, and maintain program software in support of test and exercise requirements Required Experience/QualificationsBachelors degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 6 years’ software testing experience
Firm understanding of processes involved in full lifecycle software developmentStrong Linux skillsTroubleshooting and system analysisExperience in the development of test scenarios and providing support for User Acceptance TestingExperience in assisting developers in creating and maintaining automated test scriptsComfortable operating with minimal supervision and coordinating with a geographically distributed team Preferred Experience/Qualifications Three (3) or more years of experience supporting military training events/exercises utilizing simulation-based training systems (M&S)Experience in operating and troubleshooting M&S systems in the JLVC and JLCCTC FederationsExperience using JSPA and Insight to debug federated M&S systems.Secure systemsExperience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)Agile developmentAutomated test development experienceDemonstrated ability understand the system and test effectively outside the boundaries established by traditional test threads.Ability to install, manage and debug Oracle or other SQL-based database systems.Ability to troubleshoot Special Requirements/Security ClearancePlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
This position may require up to 10% travel, including international destinations
