ABOUT THIS POSITION

Join a diverse team of talented and inspired engineers and analysts to develop US Army Air and Missile Defense systems in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Test Engineer will provide technical and programmatic support to the Search Track Acquire Radiate Eliminate (STARE) Program to ensure that all aspects of ongoing and long-range STARE-related test planning activities for US and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) test programs can be accomplished.  The primary responsibility will be supporting across the STARE Program portfolio, both domestic and future country-unique test efforts for STARE ground testing, flight testing, and production qualification testing, as required.  The applicant will coordinate among disciplines within STARE and outside agencies to ensure that all STARE testing is conducted in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) test acquisition programs, policies, procedures, and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Lead authoring, evaluation, and execution of STARE Test Program documentation with focus on the STARE Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and Test Plans.Assist in reviewing designated US and FMS STARE-related test documentation, to include mission and system descriptions, integrated test program schedules, and integrated T&E strategy. Review and assessment of hardware/software resource utilization, test objectives and criteria, flight test matrix establishment and definition, target requirements, and interoperability test requirements.Provide support in conducting STARE Test meetings, assist in the preparation of STARE Test briefings or reports, and provide recommendations, technical alternatives, and/or test program options. Interpret and apply DoD and US Army policies regarding test objectives, strategies, and plans / procedures.Perform on-site temporary duty assignments (TDY) to various test ranges (typically not more than 2 weeks at a time) for up to 20 weeks per year, to include infrequent OCONUS travel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics10+ years of developmental and/or operational test experience supporting DA/DoD major weapon systems.Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.Proficient in the use of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations.Ability to build solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.Candidate must be a US CitizenPossess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Test support and battalion-level operations, to include communications, interoperability, and joint testing of major military tactical equipment. Test experience with Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AIAMD) and other medium-to-high altitude air defense weapon systems. Experience preparing detailed documentation for complex technical projects in conformance with strict product preparation guidelines.
