The Opportunity:
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Test Engineer to join our team working on the Makalu contract. This role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of highly used and critically important cloud-native applications that provide Situational Awareness and Collaboration capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, excellent documentation skills, and experience with test management tools.
On team Makalu, test engineers are an integral part of the development team. Test engineers are expected to be flexible and adaptive to supporting the needs of the program. Test engineer is encouraged to work closely with the development team to influence system architecture, feature design, and security integration as it pertains to testability and meeting acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute regression, acceptance, and useability testing to help support continuous software delivery. Continually improve test processes and practices based on inspection/adaptation of previous iterations.Create, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test casesExecute/analyze test cases and document and communicate results.Report bugs/deficiencies/defects using a defect management system such as JIRATroubleshoot and verify bugs/deficiencies and errors reported.Become a vital part of the agile Scrum team and participate in requirements review/story elaborations, and testing activities to deliver high quality products.Translate high-level business requirements into test scenariosMaintain testing database with up to date test procedures.Coordinate testing efforts across networks, browsers, etc.Work with software developers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests, to include performance and stress testing.Work collaboratively and effectively in a very agile, fast paced environment.Contribute towards predictable delivery of quality software releases.Proactively research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation.Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results.Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality.Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional “edge cases” outside of expected functionality.Have the drive to become an expert in:UX TestingUI TestingIntegration testing of APIsPerformance and scalability testingSecurity Penetration TestingAutomated Test maintenance
Qualifications:
Required:
An active TS/SCI clearance with CI PolyBachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or related field or at least a minimum of 3 years experienceFamiliarity working in Linux Operating SystemsExperience with Agile software development methodologies.Current Security+ and/or CISSP Certification. If candidate is not certified, must commit to obtaining certification within 3 months of start date.
Desired:
Experience with DevOps concepts including Continuous Delivery (CD), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Behavior and/or Test Driven Development (BDD / TDD).Experience with API test tools (Postman, JMeter, Swagger, etc.)Experience with UI test tools (Cypress, Selenium, Jest, etc.)Understanding of microservices architectures, containerization, and cloud technologies.Ability to leverage scripting languages to support testingExperience with identity management, access, and authorization solutions (PKI, LDAP).Experience with web debuggers (e.g., Firefox debugger, Chrome Developer tools, etc.)Experience monitoring network activity and network traffic redirection. Familiarity with proxy implementationsDemonstrated experience with agile development practices, including Agile Scrum methodology.Experience testing for performance, reliability, scalability and security.Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance.Experience with automated front end testing tools.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$57,500-$117,900
