Test Engineer
**Test Engineer: (Aerospace)** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive **Test Engineer** to join our team. This role is critical in defining, documenting, analyzing, performing, and interpreting tests for our products. The Test Engineer will collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality groups to ensure product compliance with engineering specifications and aerospace standards while contributing to the development and improvement of testing programs and methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Product Testing & Compliance:** 2. Use inspection devices (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) to assess product compliance with engineering drawings and aerospace specifications. 3. Program and edit software for computerized test machines with minimal supervision. 4. Perform and assist in training for mechanical test setups, including computerized screw and electric-driven test machines. 5. Monitor test machine operations for quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accuracy. 6. **Laboratory Operations:** 7. Operate test lab equipment, including environmental chambers, ovens, and salt spray chambers. 8. Maintain comprehensive documentation of test programs, including pictures, notes, tables, and charts. 9. Prepare test materials through processes such as machining, abrasive blasting, cleaning, and adhesive application. 10. **Data Analysis & Reporting:** 11. Identify functional issues, propose resolutions, analyze test data, and troubleshoot failures. 12. Write and review detailed test reports, presenting findings in clear and appropriate formats. 13. Research archives and provide technical support regarding testing data for internal and external stakeholders. 14. **Development & Innovation:** 15. Assist in defining internal quality control standards and maintain reliability programs. 16. Design and conduct mechanical, thermal, and chemical conditioning programs for test samples. 17. Develop new test procedures and setups in collaboration with project leads or product engineers. 18. Design and fabricate test tooling for computerized test machines. 19. **Training & Maintenance:** 20. Train and assist other personnel within the test department. 21. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the test area, equipment, and samples. 22. Report hazardous conditions and comply with all safety guidelines and policies. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field. + **Experience:** Minimum of one year of experience in a related field or industry is preferred but not required. **Skills & Competencies:** + Proficiency in reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation. + Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance). + Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering and drafting software is a plus. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write detailed reports and correspondence. + Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including statistical analysis, data visualization, and problem-solving. + Ability to operate manual and powered hand tools; experience with manual lathes, mills, and drill presses is a plus. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills. + Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
