Qualifications

Education and Experience

Relevant degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school. CSA and/or CCIL laboratory testing certifications an asset. 1 - 5 years of experience in laboratory testing Experience in the mining industry and specifically paste and tailings an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge and practical work experience in laboratory testing a must. Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental concerns Good analytical and critical thinking skills Attention to detail with emphasis on quality. Strong organizational and time management skills High level communication skills High stress tolerance and good tolerance of ambiguity and surprises: ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and coordinate the input of others in these circumstances. Ability to work effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders. Ability to work in a discreet manner, maintaining confidentiality and hear.   Ability to travel up to 50% of time. Essential Physical Job Functions and Work Environment

Metso is seeking a motivated, highly technical Test Engineer to join our high achieving Minerals team. This role will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating testing activities relating to machines, spares and wears, and providing customers with technical services in conjunction with sales. This challenging role will be based in Cananea but will require frequent site travel.

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

WHO YOU ARE:

 

A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience must include at least two years from one or several of the following industries: mining, aggregate or contract crushing Basic computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel Must have current motor vehicle license and passport. Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests. Must be physically fit. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to travel within short notice. Screen Installation and commissioning testing Experience in the usage of databases and MS Project.
