Job Description
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The role involves defining verification criteria for feature function and field tests, ensuring technical test requirements are met by using simulation rig tests and physical vehicles. This includes physical and virtual testing such as performance and fuel consumption measurements, wind resistance calculations, climate testing, durability, and noise testing. The role also involves managing customer relationships and defining strategies for field tests, as well as creating, managing, and executing test plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing results, providing recommendations, preparing and managing fault reports, and documenting results in engineering reports. They will continuously update test methods and propose updates to technical requirements, develop test methods for new technologies, and support testing in new markets and sites.
ResponsibilitiesDefine verification criteria for feature function and field tests.Perform physical and virtual testing, including performance and fuel consumption measurements, wind resistance calculations, climate testing, durability, and noise testing.Understand functions and verification requirements to define test targets.Manage complete customer relationships and define strategies for field tests.Identify verification needs and create test plans.Manage, prepare, and execute tests.Analyze test results and provide recommendations.Prepare and manage fault reports from tests.Document results and compile engineering reports.Continuously update test methods and propose updates to technical requirements.Develop test methods for new technologies and support testing in new markets and sites.Support junior team members and act as a role model for lifelong learning.Train and mentor less experienced team members.Essential SkillsMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering.BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSc preferred).Solid understanding of vehicle bus systems and their protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).3-5 years of experience with analog inputs such as voltage measurement, pressure, frequency, acceleration, and temperature.In-depth knowledge and experience with metrology fundamentals.Experience with data acquisition systems.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work efficiently in teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsScripting knowledge in Matlab, Python, C#, C, or similar.Previous experience with the person or Ipetronik.Working experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, or the person.Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.Great work ethic and attention to detail.Work Environment
The position involves working with data acquisition systems in the Greensboro facility, interfacing with internal customers to support testing requirements. It includes configuring, developing, and troubleshooting data acquisition systems, as well as implementing new equipment in collaboration with vendors. The role requires planning and organizing projects, collaborating with global counterparts, and educating engineers and technicians. The work environment emphasizes teamwork, efficiency, and adherence to industry best practices.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
