Job Description
This position typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience. The role involves defining verification criteria for feature function and field tests, ensuring technical test requirements are met using simulation rig tests and physical vehicles. You will be responsible for managing complete customer relationships, defining test strategies for new technologies, creating test plans, analyzing results, and providing recommendations.
ResponsibilitiesDefine verification criteria for feature, function, and field tests.Perform physical and virtual testing such as performance, fuel consumption measurements, wind resistance, soiling, climate testing, durability, and noise testing.Understand functions and verification requirements to define test targets.Manage complete customer relationships and define strategies for field tests.Identify verification needs for features, functions, or field tests and define test requirements.Create, manage, prepare, and execute test plans.Analyze results and provide recommendations in respective technology areas.Prepare and manage fault reports from tests.Document results and compile engineering reports.Continuously update test methods and propose updates of technical requirements.Define strategies and develop test methods for new technologies in transport solutions.Deploy and support feature, function testing, or field tests in new markets and sites.Ensure fidelity of test methods and codes.Act as a technical expert within an area or have broad competence in many areas.Train and mentor less experienced team members.Support junior team members and peers.Serve as a role model for lifelong learning, sharing knowledge, and developing others.Develop influence and work confidently within the wider organizational network.Clearly articulate value creation within their part of the organization.Essential SkillsMinimum BSc degree required, MSc degree in Electrical or Mechanical preferred.Solid understanding of vehicle bus systems and their protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).3-5 years of experience with analog inputs such as voltage measurement, pressure, frequency, acceleration, and temperature.In-depth knowledge and experience with metrology fundamentals.Scripting knowledge in Matlab, Python, C#, C, or similar.Experience with DAQ systems, instrumentation, and data storage processes.Experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, or similar tools.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Great work ethic and attention to detail.Ability to efficiently work in teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with Ipetronik or similar systems is an advantage.Experience with establishing investment requests and developing roadmaps for data acquisition systems.Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing projects.Ability to collaborate with global counterparts to adapt test procedures according to local requirements.Experience in educating engineers and technicians to operate data acquisition systems efficiently.Work Environment
The work environment includes configuring and developing data acquisition systems in the Greensboro facility, interfacing with internal customers to ensure testing requirements are met, and collaborating with equipment vendors for new equipment implementation and commissioning. The role may require travel to support feature and function testing or field tests in new markets and sites.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
