Job Title: Test EngineerJob Description The Approvals Test Systems Engineer is part of the Engineering Approvals Team and assists with the ongoing work required to obtain and maintain product compliance with the required industry regulations. This role will perform detailed product analysis and hands-on product testing and test development to verify compliance and interface with regulatory agencies to create and prepare the submission materials to acquire certification. Responsibilities + Interpret and apply applicable safety and/or performance standards. + Participate in sustaining and new product development teams to capture and document global hazardous location and performance requirements. + Develop test and certification strategies to meet those requirements. + Create test plans, and oversee and interpret the test results in compliance with company and industry standards and policies. + Prepare technical justifications and technical documents to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards. + Interface directly with third-party certification agencies, and manage projects with them. + Write and execute test protocols in accordance with approval standards and procedures, record results, and write test reports. BSEE or CS preferred. + At least 2-3 years’ experience in formal verification and/or validation product testing & requirements. + At least 1 year experience in standards-based testing, including environmental testing. + Understanding of design requirements and how to apply that knowledge in the evaluation of a product via technical analysis and/or testing. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly present data and articulate test results to agencies and other internal working groups. + Good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at once. + Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering or similar highly preferred). + Experience with sustaining and new product development projects, and strong working knowledge of product development processes, particularly verification and validation testing. + Previous experience in the design and certification of products used in hazardous locations, including performance certifications. + Experience with hazardous location and/or performance standards (FM, CSA, ATEX, IECEx). Work Environment The role is onsite and offers a long-term position with two weeks of PTO and holidays based on the schedule. The work involves using test equipment and requires adherence to company standards and policies. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
