Test Engineer III
As a Test Engineer at SNC, you will be using your skills and expertise to simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated ground-based and aerial vehicles. This position is situated within a dynamic team-focused environment, emphasizing the planning and execution of comprehensive testing for mission systems, payloads, and base vehicles. Our testing approach evolves with the design maturity, extending from initial stages through to post-production follow-ups on subsequent articles. The role involves extensive system testing, aimed at assessing a broad spectrum of mission equipment such as communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems, to ensure they meet design and functionality standards. If required, air vehicle testing tasks may include the assessment of aircraft performance and systems disturbed during air vehicle modification and return-to-service efforts, and a thorough evaluation of various flight and control capabilities across prototype air vehicles. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. **Responsibilities:** + Participate in internal and external meetings and briefs. + Generate presentation material and conduct presentations for internal and external program briefs. + Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and program stakeholders to develop test strategy for new programs. + Draft and develop test plans and test procedures of various complexities, with specific test criteria. + Execute testing (local and off-site) in accordance with approved test plans and test procedures to evaluate or demonstrate functionality of components, sub-systems, mission systems and other article systems and capabilities. + When required, travel to offsite test locations and lead/participate in planned test activities. + Troubleshoot test anomalies discovered during test. + Draft and develop test reports summarizing all test findings following conclusion of test. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of experience + Higher education may substitute for relevant experience + Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices + Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams + Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams + Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration + Experience with planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities + Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques + **The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required** **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Extensive experience in missile testing and missile operations + Proven background in the Aerospace and Defense industry + Proficiency with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies, including both manual and automated testing + Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports, ensuring compliance with system requirements + Strong understanding of Product and Quality Assurance principles, with experience in generating and resolving product non-conformances + Experience conducting certification testing for various certification organizations, such as the FAA, NASA, or the DoD Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
