Test Operations Technical Assistant

The NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) conducts aerospace research in a variety of ground test facilities and laboratories across a range of capabilities. This requisition is for a Test Operations Technical Assistant supporting test facility operations. This position will report to the Test Operations Branch Manager, supporting activities at the Branch level and numerous wind tunnel test facilities.

Responsibilities\:
Test Operations Technical Assistant duties include, but are not limited to\:

Data entry into several different performance tracking systems
Maintaining staffing information and editing organization charts Producing, proofing, and editing standard reports and presentations Assist with event planning Escorting VIP visitors onsite Note taking and producing meeting minutes Creating and maintaining employee records Managing training schedules Assisting with purchasing for the department *

U.S. Citizenship required. One to two years of work experience.

General Skills\:

Good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to learn and work independently Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams is required Proficiency with Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, and Power Point), office equipment Familiarity with office machine operation (copying, scanning, etc.) Must be self-motivated and have great attention to detail Ability to learn and work independently

Essential Functions\:

Work Environment
Office environment – (90%)
Industrial environment (10%) -- may be exposed to high noise levels, safety hazards, hazardous materials and chemicals.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Physical Requirements
Corrected vision and adequate hearing (100%)
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods (10%)
Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. (10%)

Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, copier, etc.) (90%)
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (10%)

Attendance
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Occasional overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (<10%)
Local travel (10%)

Other Essential Functions
U.S. Citizenship required. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to balance scope, schedule, and budget to ensure project success. The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
