Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Test Planning Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and managing prototype bills of materials for HV Battery programs, integrating design changes, and ensuring that prototype configurations are representative of the latest designs.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage prototype bill of materials for the HV Battery programs.Create change orders to integrate design changes into prototype bill of materials.Define hardware upgrade packages to ensure prototype configurations are representative of the latest design.Develop and maintain prototype build requirements, endurance test plan, and teardown schedule for HV Batteries.Utilize Global and regional tools to maintain individual bills of materials and test plans.Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to the management team.Utilize structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause and develop corrective action within a timely manner.Independently schedule work including issuing work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems to ensure timely completion of projects.Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations, and review with management.Create project plans and timelines, and assist management with defining budget requirements.Promptly resolve prototype build issues.Lead cross-functional activities with regional and Global counterparts in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Suppliers.Communicate effectively and maintain professional/social interaction in a multi-cultural and international environment.Maintain daily record of work hours by project.Perform other activities as necessary and/or assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in creating and managing prototype bill of materials.Ability to create change orders and integrate design changes into prototype bill of materials.Skill in defining hardware upgrade packages to ensure prototype configurations are representative of the latest design.Proficiency in developing and maintaining prototype build requirements, endurance test plans, and teardown schedules for HV Batteries.Experience in utilizing global and regional tools to maintain individual bills of materials and test plans.Strong analytical skills to analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations.Proficiency in structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause and develop corrective actions.Capability to independently schedule work, issue work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems.Experience in creating project plans and timelines and assisting management with budget requirements.Ability to promptly resolve prototype build issues.Strong leadership skills to lead cross-functional activities with regional and global counterparts.Effective communication skills to maintain professional and social interaction in a multicultural and international environment.Experience in maintaining daily records of work hours by project.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience within the automotive industry.Work Environment
The position is onsite in Detroit, MI. You will work in a dynamic environment that requires effective communication and collaboration with a diverse team.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
