Job Description
We are seeking a Test Planning Engineer specializing in eDrive Transaxle to support our development programs. The role involves creating and managing prototype bills of materials, developing test plans, and coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure timely project completion.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage prototype bill of materials for engine, transmission, and axle development programs.Create change orders to integrate design changes into prototype bills of materials.Define hardware upgrade packages to ensure prototype configurations are representative of the latest design.Develop and maintain prototype build requirements, endurance test plans, and teardown schedules for engine, transmission, and axle programs.Utilize global and regional tools to maintain individual bills of materials and test plans.Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to the management team.Utilize structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes and develop corrective actions in a timely manner.Issue work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems to ensure timely completion of projects.Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and review with management.Create project plans and timelines, and assist management with defining budget requirements.Coordinate cross-functional activities with regional and global counterparts in engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and suppliers.Maintain a daily record of work hours by project.Align with designers and design teams to ensure all parts in an assembly are managed properly.Manage hardware, cells, and align with the procurement team in the engineering lab for tracking parts.Coordinate pre-aging of aftertreatment systems in the lab and plan logistics for deployment.Check with R&D engineers for release dates and any risks/issues to meet deadlines.Manage data logger inventory to support engineering and field investigation demands.Essential SkillsExperience with bill of materials (BOM) management.Knowledge of axle, part tracking, and test planning.Proficiency in cross-functional activities with regional and global counterparts in engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and suppliers.Ability to align with designers and design teams.Mechanical engineering expertise.Responsible for engineering numbers, part numbers, and ordering parts.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience within the automotive industry.Work Environment
This position is onsite in Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00
