Test Technician, EV Charging Systems

Job purpose 

We have an opportunity for a results-oriented and driven Test Technician to join our team-oriented environment in our Dearborn, MI location. Successful candidates will have prior experience in complex electrical hardware and be capable of reading and following assembly drawings and wiring diagrams correctly.  We need to fill these jobs immediately, so it is important for new hires to hit the ground running.   

Key responsibilities 

Read, interpret and follow prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products. 

Proficiency in using both power and hand tools is required throughout the testing procedure.

Test products before they are released to our customer. The tests our technicians perform ensure that our products function properly and are free of any defects. 

Maintain a clean and safe work area. 

Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. 

Perform multipoint safety and efficiency inspections. Technicians will use their expertise to determine if a product will be functional and ready to use. 

Test technicians may inspect individual products or prototypes.

What we’re looking for 

High School Diploma or GED 

Must be familiar with and follow all Lock Out Tag Out and Safety protocols and procedures  

2+ years electrical / mechanical assembly experience preferred 

Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions 

Strong verbal and written skills 

Must be able to communicate with all functional groups within organization 

Computer navigation and utilization skills with many software packages 

Test technicians must be comfortable to work with 480VAC power 

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly 

High attention to detail and self-motivation skills 

Physical Demands & Abilities 

Regularly lift 20-40 pounds 

Able to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately  

Test technicians must have a strong understanding of various of basic engineering concepts. 

Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
