Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

Test Technicians help perform QA for prototype vehicles and/or prototype components in the Test & Development group. This is not a production role. These positions are to help test new designs and design improvements to scissor lifts and other similar construction equipment. Candidates will be “hands-on” testing heavy equipment. 70% of their day will consist of testing hydraulics and electronics. There is a lot of variety in this role. No one specializes and everyone takes on tasks as they’re allocated by management. Under the supervision of a Test Engineer, individuals will perform tasks to verify performance and validate the machine and components to Internal Standard Test Procedures and External Standards.

Hard SkillsInstall various types of instrumentation (pressure ports, temperatures, displacements, speed, etc.) as well as the data acquisition system (Somat eDAQ)Operate test machines in accordance with Internal Standard Test Procedures and External StandardsCommunicate and record any machine issues encountered during buildSupport the Test and Development process improvement activitiesPerform tests of systems and components to assure proper function, focusing on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems aside from the internal components of the power unit (motor)Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and follow detailed test proceduresFabricate test fixtures, including establishing appropriate instrumentation, test sequence, and proceduresRoutinely work with a data acquisition systemBlueprint and schematic readingElectrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systemsBasic computer skillsElectro-mechanical skillsAbout Actalent
