The role involves working on critical systems such as PCOS, CCQAS, DMHRSi, EAS IV, ESSENCE, and PHIMT, which are essential for managing healthcare claims, provider credentialing, human resources, cost allocation, disease surveillance, and health information management. The ideal candidate will contribute to application development and sustainment, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions across ten core IT domains, including configuration management, cybersecurity, digital transformation, software engineering, and application support. This position requires expertise in agile methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic military healthcare environment.   Arlluk Technology Solutions is seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our team supporting the Defense Health Agency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies and experience in ensuring the quality and reliability of healthcare applications. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and performance of MHS applications through rigorous testing processes.   Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Test Technician will be responsible for executing test plans, identifying defects, and ensuring the quality of MHS applications. Key responsibilities include: • Execute manual and automated test cases for MHS applications and systems. • Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts. • Identify, document, and report software defects and issues using appropriate tracking tools. • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. • Collaborate with developers and other team members to resolve identified issues. • Participate in the review and analysis of requirements to ensure testability. • Assist in the development and maintenance of test environments and test data. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies. • Perform basic performance and load testing on applications as required. • Assist in the creation and execution of test automation scripts. • Participate in agile ceremonies, providing testing perspective in sprint planning and reviews. • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and results. Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 1-3 years of experience in software testing, or Associate's degree in a relevant field with 3-5 years of experience in software testing, or High school diploma with 4+ years of experience in software testing Required Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices Experience with test case design and execution Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) Basic understanding of SQL for database testing Experience with manual and automated testing techniques Attention to detail and strong analytical skills Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively in a team environment Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) Familiarity with agile development methodologies Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance Desired Skills and Competencies: Experience working in government or military healthcare environments Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) Basic understanding of API testing and web services Knowledge of mobile application testing Familiarity with accessibility testing and Section 508 compliance Understanding of security testing principles Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent Working Environment & Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.    This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.   The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
