Description

Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process. Working on or monitoring the output of an automated assembly line or assembly station. Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.

Key Responsibilities:

- PLC Programming:

- Set up, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems to ensure optimal machine performance.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to modify and enhance existing PLC programs as needed.

- Pipe Cutting:

- Operate bandsaws to cut pipes to specified lengths and dimensions, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.

Role Purpose:

•\tConnect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment.

•\tOperates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions

•\tFamiliarity with electrical work, including 460-3-60 machinery and medium voltage industrial power supplies.

•\tFamiliarity with HVAC operation, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification is a plus

•\tExperience with pumps, VFDs, boilers, is a plus

•\tLO/TO controls troubleshooting and Arc Flash training is helpful

•\tWorks under moderate supervision to support engineering testing of chillers.

•\tFamiliarity with industrial tools

Will work to perform tests and evaluate results for Carrier Air-Cooled Chillers in an engineering laboratory.

Works under moderate supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks

Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects

Operates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions

Collaborates with higher-level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results

Required Qualifications:

•\tHigh School Diploma or GED

•\tStrong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting , and be mechanically inclined

•\t3+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools

•\tMechanical skills

•\tMoving/lifting weights up to 35 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

•\tExperience with HVAC or other large commercial equipment

•\tCommercial HVAC Industrial or operation experience preferred

•\tExperience with Instrumentation set up, troubleshooting and calibration

•\tSet-up of laboratory equipment with pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements is very important

•\tStrong PC skills

•\tExperience or familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation preferred

•\tReading and interpreting complex drawings, schematics, and bluepr

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
