Test Technician
**Job Title: Test Technician** **Job Description** As a Test Technician, you will be primarily responsible for the independent setup, testing, and operation of all phases of processing pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment. This role involves developing and testing production hardware and their subassemblies by following schematics and other written and/or verbal specifications, troubleshooting problems that arise, and responding with appropriate unit rework. **Responsibilities** + Ensure that products perform their proposed functions in a satisfactory manner. + Read and interpret documents such as procedures, schematics, and technical drawings. + Use necessary measuring devices and equipment to confirm tooling/fixturing geometries and dimensions. + Complete work as directed in compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements, including mil-specs. + Setup and operate tools required for assembly, including standard hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth mics, calipers, and microscopes. + Assemble products, install internal components, use arbor press/fixtures, and apply lock wire and torque seal. + Conduct functional testing. + Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job. + Support Lean initiatives to improve company efficiencies. + Maintain all hand tools in clean working condition and notify the supervisor of any equipment that requires repair. + Perform other job duties as requested or assigned. + Properly handle and dispose of chemicals using proper PPE as required. + Understand basic hydraulic concepts and the function of gauges, flow meters, and assemblies in hydraulic systems. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical skills + Aerospace knowledge + Proficiency with hand tools + Experience in production and mechanical assembly + Ability to read blueprints and schematics + Experience with test equipment, oscilloscopes, and multimeters + Troubleshooting and calibration skills + Ability to perform electrical inspections and follow test procedures + Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and work instructions **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in aerospace industry + Understanding of mil-specs + Ability to conduct functional testing + Experience with Lean manufacturing principles + Proficiency in using measuring devices like micrometers, depth mics, and calipers **Why Work Here?** This role offers a 5% raise every six months up to 24 months, providing substantial growth potential. While performing the duties of this job, you will be frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration. The position may entail exposure to abrasive chemicals. This role interacts in both a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. It uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection as required. The temperature of the work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures and machining processes. This is a full-time position with 10-hour workdays from Monday through Thursday. Overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Some travel may be required for this position (5-10%). **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Whippany, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $59716.00 - $59716.00/yr. full benefit package including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage including pre-tax flexible spending accounts for health and childcare expenses. Flexible work schedule options with 24 days off of combined vacation and holidays during the 1st year of employment. In addition, there is a company match on 401(k) and Roth deferrals, a life insurance and AD&D policy paid by the company.
