Test Technician Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining production test systems, troubleshooting failed drives, and training Level 1 and Level 2 testers in the Low Voltage Drives group located in New Berlin, WI. You will also assist with the installation, commissioning, and modification of new test systems. The work model for the role is: onsite. #LI-Onsite.This role is contributing to the Motion Drives Products division in New Berlin, WI. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tEnsure daily production failures are quickly resolved and documented.•\tWork with Test Engineers and Failure Analysis Engineers to diagnose failed drives and determine the cause of the problem: test system / component / process.•\tAs an ECAP 3 technician, ensure proper safety procedures are followed while performing LOTO, fuse replacement, and system troubleshooting.•\tMaintain an effective Preventative Maintenance program on all test equipment to minimize production disruptions.•\tAssist Test Engineers with commissioning, upgrading, and repairing of T10 test equipment.•\tHelp Level 1 and Level 2 technicians develop their skills and grow within the company. Qualifications for the role

\t2+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting as an electrical or electronics technician or similar. \tKnowledge and past experience with electrical testing processes, procedures and equipment. \tWork with cross-functional teams to accomplish tasks.\tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.Preferred Qualifications: \tAssociate’s degree in electronics/manufacturing.\tAC Drives Manufacturing and Repair Process experience.\tVariable Frequency Drives (VFD) Troubleshooting and Testing experience.\tExperience with reading and interpreting schematics, drawings and blueprints. \tExperience with Electrical Testing tools including but not limited to Multimeters, Meggers, Oscilloscopes and other related equipment.
