Test Technician ll (TEMP)

We are seeking a Test Technician to aid in the production of high-power CO2 lasers in our Bloomfield, CT facility. This position requires individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, technically demanding and constantly evolving product landscape. Standard schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required Work with free-space optical components Operate laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies and oscilloscopes Support Lean Initiatives including 3S weekly & 6S monthly activities. Ensure a safe work environment and cultivate safe behaviors Other duties as business needs require

 Education & Experience

Technical Associates degree or Certificate in Laser Electro Optics or related discipline + 0 years of experience ---   OR --- 1+ years of closely related opto-mechanical, electronics assembly, or test experience Mechanical and Electrical Assembly experience required

 

Skills

Ability to follow work instructions, interpret optical and electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, engineering plans and specifications as required Experience with hand tools and power tools, soldering equipment, vacuum systems, and electrical equipment Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments  Knowledge of laser components preferred Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel) required Ability to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring sound judgment in trouble shooting, resolving issues and the ability to provide recommendations Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to effectively interact with cross-functional groups Ability to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift ~ 50lbs
