Tester - 1st Shift

The Tester is expected to perform system tests, conform to production and quality standards, analyze failure modes, and perform minor repairs in workstation.  The tester ensures all records are kept and confers with appropriate resources when issues arise.

Responsibilities
Tester I

Comply with the company and site safety and quality policies, processes, and proceduresMaintain clean work environment and comply with 5S standardsFollow and complete established procedures, processes, and policiesUse standard work, programs, and work instructions to test all products, models, and/or subassembliesInterpret schematics and drawings to properly test all productsTroubleshoot and document all product, models, and/or subassemblies appropriately to meet quality standardsPerform minor repairs per work instruction/standard work within takt time; refer major repairs to appropriate resourcesCollaborate on improving processes, lead times, productivity and cost using the DTZ processObtain and renew safety certification as needed to properly move and/or test all products, models, and/or subassembliesAdditional duties as assigned including flexing to other departments


Tester II

All Tester I responsibilities.Train employees on tester responsibilities in alignment with standard work/work instructionsInform maintenance team of preventative maintenance opportunities for test equipmentProgram systems on the product to perform testing as neededRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of product testing in a manufacturing environmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills to implement appropriate countermeasuresIntermediate PC knowledgeUnderstand testing processPerform basic reading and math functionsPerform basic manufacturing assembly skillsWork in a team environment effectivelyModel positive and professional work ethicTrain other employees

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent 2-6 years of experience

Additional Qualifications

Ability to effectively communicateContributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.Ability to identify problemsBasic PC knowledgeBasic knowledge of product testing and generator assembly.Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly skillsAbility to effectively work in a team environment.Models positive and professional work ethics.Uses test procedures, test programs and written instructions to test product and / or subassemblies

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
