Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. The position is within the Clothing and Equipment Team in PM Combat Support System's. Responsibilities You will be responsible for delegated area of projects meeting technical requirements, which include participating in technical reviews. You will serve as a textile subject matter expert and may serve on source selection boards, coordinate research and development, test evaluation efforts, and contribute to systems engineering plans. You will conduct research leading to the improvements in ballistic, flame resistant, and other fabrics of interest for military applications. You will support the development of products, specifications, and other technical documentation in support of textile technology programs. You will utilize textile processing expertise to identify, track, or mitigate technical risks for military clothing and body armor acquisition program. You will provide customer support and problem-solving expertise to textile and fabric users, manufacturers, and stakeholders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting the development of product specifications AND other technical documentation in support of textile technology programs; OR conducting fabric AND textile component testing to support Research & Development OR current textile-based acquisition programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In addition to meeting the Specialized Experience: Applicants must meet one of the education requirements listed below: Degree: textile technology. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in textile technology that included at least 20 semester hours in textile technology and closely related subjects, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. ­Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5743 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations.
