THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER, Position Description Number D1503P01 and is part of the 152 AOG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a Theater Aerospace Operations Command an Control Officer, GS-2101-13, you will monitor and oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all unit programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations in the training and employment of the force level Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) weapons system. The Operations Director must ensure AOC weapons systems personnel are capable of operating in a United States-only, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), or a tailored alliance environment. The incumbent requires mastery level knowledge of air campaign strategy, combat plans, and combat operations. Must be trained and able to function in a senior level position in a joint/coalition AOC reporting to the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) at the 3-star level. Accordingly, the incumbent must direct preparation for members to function at the operational level of war in an AOC. This responsibility mandates a working knowledge of all Air Force Weapon Systems and their capabilities, as well as a clear understanding of the systems and capabilities of sister services, NATO nations, and other coalition partners. This level of knowledge is required to sustain the development and execution of a daily Air Tasking Order for a minimum of 30 days at 500 missions per day. The incumbent directs and supervises a staff whose functions affect the day to day operation and administration of an AOC, which is the senior element of the Theater Air Control System (TACS). In addition to supervisory responsibility, the incumbent possesses rated or air battle management experience and maintains AOC positional certification. Must qualify for and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Officer Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training in following directives and regulations. Experience interpreting and applying published directives or regulations. Experience communicating with others. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. Must have experience developing and directing the force level weapons system implementation program in coordination with higher headquarters to meet approved employment concepts. Must have experience overseeing training of all assigned/attached AOC positionally assigned battle rostered personnel. Must have experience developing division policy for flight management personnel to ensure effective and efficient administrative control of all flight documentation and individual flight records. Must have experience developing and recommending the operations budget for approval to higher headquarters based on unit requirements and mission.
