The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team assuming responsibility for: assessing the recreation and leisure interest, level of skills, needs, and resources of mentally ill patients; promote personal well being, health and quality of life through the facilitation of purposeful leisure interventions that improve and/or maintain physical, leisure, social, cognitive, and emotional functioning; assisting the patients to obtain necessary activities and resources; coordinating and implementing therapeutic recreation activities; guided by professional standards of practice. Responsible for meeting productivity standards in direct patient services. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

EDUCATION:Education: Bachelor in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited program.Population Specifics: Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population served in Adult Inpatient.Experience: Prior experience in a mental health setting preferred.Required Certification: Current certification or eligible by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with culturally diverse population.Salary Range: $19.54 - $27.51
