Therapeutic Tech, Per DiemReq #:0000171158 Category:Behavioral and Mental Health Status:Per Diem Shift:Evening Facility:Jersey City Medical Center Department:Psy Residential Svc Location: Jersey City Medical Center, 355 Grand Street, Jersey CIty, NJ 07302 Job Overview: The Therapeutic Technician will work with adult consumers residing in a 15 bed community based residence who are diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. The candidate will support consumers in their wellness and recovery towards independent living. Qualifications: Required: + Bachelor's Degree in mental health field or High School Certificate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a helping profession, + Valid NJ Driver's License required with no restrictions, Preferred: + CPR/First/AED preferred - will be provided if certificate is not active, + Bilingual skills appreciated Scheduling Requirements: + Flex Schedule + Coverage for days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Essential Functions: + Support provided includes medication supervision, skill building, community integration, identifying a crisis, and applying appropriate interventions -in-depth training provided on site. + Therapeutic technician will support other team members in providing a clean and therapeutic environment. + The mission of the department is to assist consumers in their recovery and keep them stable in the community and aid in the transition to a less supervised level of housing supervision. + Candidates will need to be patient and possess strong motivational skills to support the consumers in their individualized goals.
